for Parents
Passportfolio is a free, secure, website provided by Connexions Nottinghamshire for all young people aged 11-19 years in Nottinghamshire (and until they are 25 if they have special educational needs)
What Passportfolio can do for your son or daughter
Planning their future and getting to where they want to go is probably one of the biggest challenges many young people face during their teens. They need to make decisions early on about what they want to study and later, what they want to do and where they want to go. Passportfolio is a site that enables them to:
- Record all of their qualifications, skills and achievements gained in and out of school
- Record their work experience and placements
- Use the interactive quizzes and useful links to think about themselves and what is important to them
- Find out what options are available to them and decide what’s right for them in the future
- Use the CV, Learning Action Plan and Personal Statement to help them apply for jobs and courses.
Using Passportfolio helps young people with the progression planning process. Click on the jigsaw to see how the four different steps can support good progression planning.
Passportfolio will usually be introduced in school or college as part of the curriculum. If you think your son or daughter would benefit, they might already have a Passportfolio account. If not, they can register independently and we will encourage them to link with their school/college, training provider or other support later.
If you would like to see what is on this site you can either Register and see what a young person will see or
download the
guided tour and presentation.
